Professional experience
Bernardo Reis co-founded Reis Malheiro & Associados in 2014. A graduate of the Universidade de Lisboa, with post-graduate qualifications in Securities and Arbitration, his practice centres on clients navigating significant transitions — whether resolving disputes, making strategic investments, or establishing a connection to Portugal.
In dispute resolution, Bernardo acts as counsel and arbitrator in ICC, ACL and UNCITRAL proceedings, and teaches in post-graduate arbitration programmes. He has published on arbitration and commercial mediation. His contentious practice covers employment, administrative and commercial matters.
On the transactional and advisory side, Bernardo advises individuals and businesses relocating to or investing in Portugal, including on residency, nationality and the legal frameworks that shape long-term presence in the country. His international practice spans Portugal, Brazil, the UAE, India and Canada.
